Jaliyah is a lifelong resident of New Bedford, having attended Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational-Technical High School, where her career major was Media Technology. She continued her education at Suffolk University, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Media & Film and a Concentration in Production in 2022. In her creative work, Jaliyah has always been passionate about stories that help raise the voices of underrepresented groups. In 2023, she was an associate producer on the documentary film Roxbury. The film was created by Suffolk University’s College of Arts & Sciences Media Studies Department in partnership with Suffolk University Law School’s Housing Discrimination Testing Program (HDTP), and focused on residents of Roxbury, MA who have struggled to beat discriminatory housing policies.
Jaliyah joined the Women’s Fund in the fall of 2024 as an Executive Assistant. Her role expanded into overseeing programs like our Young Women’s Initiative and supporting community engagement activities.
